Gluttony

Realizing contentment is tough
You have a lot, but there’s always more stuff
Now on the list
The New IPhone 6
Even with that, it wont be enough

You thought you were happy with 5
Now without 6 you won’t feel alive
The screen is so big
There are so many gigs
If you can’t have it, will you survive?

You realize that you have no money-
21st century gluttons are funny
“I’m broke” you say
But find money to pay
For things you don’t need… It’s baloney.

To be happy- I think we forgot
We should be satisfied with our lot
To my children I plead
Stop saying “I need”
Be thankful for all that you’ve got.
