An Ideal Day Off

For me
Would be
To sleep
Until I wake up
To birds singing
A light breeze
Cascades through
My open window
It’s sweater weather
I look out my window
To see the rolling hills
Of the Pacific Heights area
Of San Francisco
Where Ideal me lives
I write my post
While sipping my latte
Which is topped with a swirl
Of dark chocolate
In the shape of a heart
A text…
It’s my imaginary
British boyfriend
Reminding me that we
Are to dine at seven
He and his barouche
(Or automobile)
Will be at my door
Tonight at 6:30
Now, quick trip to the gym
Not because ideal me
Needs to workout
Ideal me is in ideal shape
I want to get the juices flowing
To feel invigorated
A hot shower
A spritz of fragrance
I dress in my
classy casual
human clothes
As opposed to my
Working stiff attire
I meet
two or three friends
For lunch
Any more than three
And chatting becomes
Too difficult
Then perhaps a movie
A chick flick
No superheroes
No PG filter
Some light shopping
And where did the day go…
Dinner was wonderful
And now It’s time
For my book
I curl up
In my big comfy chair
And I am lost
An actual day off-
Let’s not go there
