Under The Stars

A day to myself, with no obligations:
No work
No phone calls to make
No cleaning
No shopping
No cooking
No home repairs
No home maintenance
No yard work
No shoveling
No car problems
No appointments
No bills
No fears for my children
No worries about my family
No problems
Just a day to myself
Where money is no object
Could I enjoy it
With all of the above
Weighing heavily
On my shoulders?
I’ll try…
I make a few calls
To set up some home renovations
Deep cleaning to take place
In my absence
I send my dogs off to their spa day
My children are loaded down
With gift cards
For clothing establishments
They won’t be heard from for hours
At which time
They will contact my personal assistant
Not me
The rest of the day is about me
I start my day of reckless abandon
A few hours at the human spa
For some spit shine
When they’ve finished with me
I sparkle from head to toes
I don the accoutrements provided by
My personal shopper
I’m not a fan of shopping
This is a lovely perk
My personal assistant
Before returning to my home
To take over my mundane duties there
Carries my lovely new clutch
For me as I
Attempt to land my sea legs
Walking on
Ridiculously high Louboutins
In my long black sleeveless dress
The perfect complement to it
Long black gloves
It appears the limo has arrived
As always
MIBB (my imaginary British boyfriend)
Is in the limo and happy
To see me
In the limo MIBB hands me
A flute of champagne
A deep kiss which lasts until
The car stops in front of the Met
Where we are seated in box 2
For a performance of
Le Nozze Di Figaro
A lovely dinner
On his yacht
By candle light
Followed by
A four string orchestra
They play for us alone
As we dance
Under the stars…
