My Plaque

        The        road     to           Hell

          is                 paved

                with                                  good

                                          intentions

A sonance of

Cacophonous lamentations

In a perditious pit

Wretched with wails

Of disharmony

Misery’s eternal certainty

Blue flames lick burnt flesh

Futile attempts at escape

Are evidenced

In bloodstained gauged walls

Taste

Foul thick air

Bitter

Regrets of those whose

Good wishes and desires

Failed

The patron saint of good intentions

My optimistic plaque will read

“At least the roads are paved”
