Finals and the Flu

“The Daily Post, January 16, 2016, Daily Prompt: B+~Write about what you did last weekend as though you’re a music critic reviewing a new album.”

The foreboding tone of last week opened up as any classically enigmatic week in recent past, with the exception of the instantly wrenching, (or retching), clattering force of a virus that pounded through my sons intestines. The timing held the timber of a one two punch, one being three days absence form school, followed by the second blow of final exams. The resonance left an emotional baseline in place, as his scores played out surprisingly well and may quite possibly be his best work to date. Once recovered, and cultural pressures settled, the week ended and wound down with the profound disquiet of a typical Midwest winter.
