Sarah Palin Has No Class

It wasn’t really that long ago when Sarah Palin seemed to burst onto the political scene out of nowhere to join John McCain in his 2008 presidential bid as Vice President on the republican ticket. She was an attractive woman draped in expensive couture purchased by the Republican Party to project an image of hip female youth. It was a gimmick, a failed attempt to draw in the young, and the female demographic— votes Obama already had in the bag.

Mystery and intrigue swirled…and then she opened her mouth. It was clear that choosing Palin was a purely sexist stunt on the part of the Republican Party. She was selected based on superficial perceptions— the inexperienced new governor/soccer mom from Alaska, whose foreign policy experience was summed up with her nasally statement: “I can see Russia from my house.”  She was there to ad a measure of female youth to the old white guy ticket. You never got the feeling John McCain was happy with the choice either.

McCain and Palin’s slogan was “change”. To which Obama famously responded:
“You can put lipstick on a pig, It’s still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still gonna stink.”

Now we get to the point of my post. This classless photo of Sarah Palin, with two washed up rockers, posed mockingly in front of a portrait of Hillary Clinton is a perfect example of a jeer gone wrong. Palin is the fool in this photo, and I’m not talking about her too young clothes. She’s clearly not smart enough to know how bad a photo like this makes her look, mocking a woman who won the popular vote by 3 million, a woman who should by all rights now be the first female POTUS. Shame on Sarah Palin, a pig with lipstick indeed.

  1. You make a very great point. She does look like a dummy, posing there with that smirk on her face. This is a slap in the face, a thousand word reality check, to anyone who tries to believe in responsible democratic governments.
