Trump/Russia… Same as it Ever Was

~ Donald Trump, on learning Robert Mueller had taken over the Russia investigation.

🎵🎼🎶And you may say yourself, “My God! What have I done?”🎶🎵🎼

Bill Barr, Trump’s pseudo Attorney General, and White House lying spokesperson, Sarah Sanders, seem to be on an ‘I’m an asshole tour’, designed to diffuse Trump’s situation…

Don’t let them:

    Ignore Sanders,

  • Arrest Barr.

  • How did we get here?

    🎶🎼🎵“How did we get here? 🎵 🎶 🎼 This is not my beautiful House.“🎵 🎶 🎼

2016, Democrats were afraid to call Trump a fraud,

🎶🎼🎵”Into the blue again in the silent water”🎶🎼🎵

2017, Democrats reluctant to call Trump a racist,

🎵🎶🎼Letting the days go by (same as it ever was)🎶🎼🎵

2018, Democrats hesitant to call Trump a traitor,

🎶🎼🎵”This is not my beautiful house!”🎶🎼🎵

2019, Democrats are averse to impeaching Trump.

🎼🎶🎵Into the blue again; into the silent water.👆🏼🎵🎼

    • 20 ongoing federal and state investigations

🎶🎼🎵 “Same as it ever was”🎵🎼🎶

    • 14 referred Mueller prosecutions

🎼🎼🎵 “Same as it ever was”🎵🎼🎶

    • 2+ ongoing counterintelligence investigations

🎵🎼🎶 “Same as it ever was”🎶🎼🎵

    • 1 pending impeachable felony charge in NYC

🎵🎼🎶 “Same as it ever was”🎶🎼🎵

    • 1 pending impeachable felony before Congress

🎶🎼🎵 “Same as it ever was “🎶🎼🎵

    • 100+ Congressional subpoenas coming

🎶🎼🎵“Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down“🎵🎶🎼

    Trump will not resign despite:

  • As per Robert Mueller’s report, any money Trump received while President, outside of his salary, is a bribe.
  • Donald Trump has been caught accepting bribes in exchange for political favors.

🎶🎼🎵”Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down”🎶🎼🎵

We watched Donald Trump obstruct justice in real time. These are some instances listed in the report:

    — Flynn investigation: “I hope you can let this go.”

    —The firing of FBI Director James Comey;

—The firing of Acting FBI Andrew McCabe

    — Ordering Mueller to be fired;

    —Prevent disclosure of campaign emails about Trump Tower Russia meeting;

    — Ordered Jeff Sessions to end his recusal;

    —Order for McGahn to lie;

    — Indirectly offering pardons, in exchange for cooperation, to: Flynn, Manafort, and Roger Stone

    —Threatening Michael Cohen.

All this, and Trump’s overall abuse of power make me wonder… why isn’t the self proclaimed deal artist trying to make a deal that would include his walking off into the sunset?

He knows the presidency is keeping him out of jail.

    🎶🎼🎵”Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground”🎶🎼🎵

Trump thinks he is going to get away with treason, as long as he stays in office.

Trump is not a legitimate president, as such, he does not deserve to be protected by the subjective belief that a sitting president can not be indicted.

🎶🎼🎵”Under the rocks, and stones there is water underground”🎶🎼🎵

Very few items in the Mueller report were not whispered about on twitter. People who had inside informants with knowledge have told those who would listen most of it. This should not be a surprise.

🎶🎼🎵”Remove the water at the bottom of the ocean!”🎶🎼🎵

Why do 33% of Americans still support him?

The billionaire bracket who don’t pay taxes have real motivation, all be it unethical.

But what about the ones who vote against their own interests?

🎶🎼🎵”Into the blue again after the money’s gone”🎶🎼🎵

Do they support Trump because they’re racists, or to protect an embryo at all cost, but not provide for it once it grows into a child? Maybe it’s because they want access to machine guns, or maybe they think Trump is the guy from the Apprentice.

    🎶🎼🎵And you may find yourself
    Living in a shotgun shack🎶🎼🎵

What ever the reason is, that leaves 77% of the American voting population who need to take action.

    What happens now?

Do we have the luxury of waiting for the 2020 elections?

🎶🎼🎵“Into the blue again after the money’s gone”🎶🎼🎵

The Mueller report includes Russian hacking into our voting system.

🎶🎼🎵”Under the rocks, and stones there is water underground”🎶🎼🎵

Paul Manafort gave the Kremlin polling data from swing states: Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Trump shocked everyone who had been following the exit polls, by “winning” those states at a 1% margin.

🎶🎼🎵“Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down“🎶🎼🎵

Do you think that was a coincidence?

🎶🎼🎵“Letting the days go by, water flowing underground”🎶🎼🎵

Nothing has been done to secure the elections from tampering… nothing.

Ted Cruz beat Beto O’Rourke in an election that saw Texas go from red to blue.

There were many reports of voting machine “glitches”, all in Cruz’s favor.

🎶🎼🎵”Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down”🎶🎼🎵

Russian media crows over Mueller report: ‘We will help you elect Trump once again — just like last time!’

Our Democratic leadership knows Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, will block any vote to impeach Trump, once it get’s to the senate, that’s his modus operandi.

    Caught on tape:

“There’s two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump, swear to God.” Kevin McCarthy,

    “This is an off the record . . . No leaks! . . . All right?” ~Paul Ryan’s réponse

Which brings me to my last thought: who is Barr protecting in the redacted sections of the Mueller report?

Pence knew, Devin Nunes plays the guilty perfectly, Mitch McConnell has been Trump’s wingman since before he was inaugurated.

Paul Ryan Keeps It All in the Family

Republicans can not win an election without— gerrymandered borders, the electoral college, voting machines with “glitches“, voter registration purging, disenfranchisement— cheating. But somehow they still hold office.

Despite the knowledge that the GOP cheats, democrats want to wait to impeach, until 2020.

Can Democrats win back the senate despite republican cheating?

    Barr’s Gaslit Announcement

Q: When does an Attorney General make excuses for a person under investigation?

    A: Today

Barr exonerated Trump of any interference with the investigation, due to Trump’s “frustration” over the investigation:

“There is substantial evidence to show that the President was frustrated and angered by a sincere belief that the investigation was undermining his presidency…”

Barr says Trump felt like the investigation was “interfering ” with his ability to perform his job as president. This is corruption in itself.

(Meanwhile Trump’s staff prepares Airforce One for departure to Mar a Lago, where he will spend more tax dollars golfing through a long weekend. Prior to today the tab for his golf trips totaled $96 million. Is Trump’s excessive “presidential time” interfering with his job as president?)

Barr ended his press conference after a reporter questioned him on his decision to spin his own version of the report. Barr shook his head, not unlike a wet dog shaking off water, and left.

    My questions were not asked:

    1. Was Barr chosen as AG primarily because of his letter, in which he stated a sitting president can not be indicted, because of his ties to Russian Oligarchy, or his experience in withholding information in the 1980’s.
    2. Did Mr Mueller abruptly end his investigation, by choice, or was ordered to end it?

Today we were victims of gaslighting, the obfuscation of Mueller’s words prior to their release— Barr attempted to render the meaning of the Mueller report unclear.

    Representative Nadler, Last night:

Rep. Nadler: ‘Attorney General Has Taken Unprecedented Steps’ to Spin Mueller Investigation

    Barr, this morning:

We should see the heavily redacted, and color coated, report late this morning.

Barr said no one in Trump’s campaign did anything illegal. Okay, Bill.

I look forward to reading the actual report, and to hearing Mr Mueller speak for himself— when he testifies before congress.

    Political Chaos, 4/13/2019

This has been a particularly disturbing week for anyone paying attention to the news, each new story overshadowing the previous one.

Donald Trump and his appointees have become more brazen in their refusal to follow the law, that seems to be the theme.

The story that kicked off the week, that of Trump’s latest fixer, Attorney General Bill Barr, and his sustained squat on Bob Mueller’s report.

Barr was questioned by congress this week, and contends it is his right to decide what anyone sees with regards to Bob Mueller’s report. He promises to give congress a heavily redacted version next week… color coded redactions…. 4 colors, each one a reason he chose to redact that particular section.

Who will be surprised to hear 90% of the report is censored? The only mystery left is what colors he will choose, and will he use Smencils?

Congress is investigating Barr. That’s the good news.

Barr went on record saying he believes spying occurred during Trump’s election campaign. Those are Trump’s words coming out of Barr’s mouth.

Trump and Barr are attempting to vilify the FBI, by accusing them of illegally spying, in order to cushion the impact of the inevitable release of the Mueller report.

The second story is Steve Mnuchin ignoring a congressional request to turn over Trump’s taxes. A deadline set by congress came and went… ignored. The law is clear, it requires Mnuchin provide congress with Trump’s taxes on request. With his refusal to comply, Mnuchin risks a 5 year prison sentence. He does not appear to be worried.

In response, democrats are threatening to hold him in contempt.

    Meh… shrugged off.

Here’s the Law That Requires Mnuchin to Turn Over Trump’s Taxes, or Go Directly to Jail

A third story this week sheds light on one reason Trump doesn’t want us to see his taxes. Tax fraud is a Trump family tradition.

Donald Trump’s sister, appellate court Judge Maryanne Trump Barry, officially retired this week after receiving official notification of a complaint filed against her (and her siblings):

An investigation into fraudulent tax schemes committed, with regards to inheritance money, is receiving “the full attention of a judicial conduct council”.

Apparently tax fraud is in violation of judicial conduct rules, but perfectly acceptable for the executive branch of government.

Other Trump family real estate business crimes include padding invoices to justify raising rent- in rent regulated buildings.

Undervaluing the properties to avoid tens of millions of dollars in taxes.

No need to worry about Judge Barry suffering along with the majority of retired Americans, trying to get by on Social Security and Medicare… she can collect in both, but she’ll also keep her six-figure, taxpayer-funded salary in retirement.

Also, in 2004 and 2006, the siblings sold off their father’s empire, her share was $182.5 million… so she has that to fall back on.

Retiring as a Judge, Trump’s Sister Ends Court Inquiry Into Her Role in Tax Dodges

The fourth story is regarding Julian Assange of Wikileaks. He was forcibly removed from the Ecuadorian embassy, in London, where he sought asylum 7 years ago because he was wanted in Sweden for sexual assault. He has been removed for extradition to the United States under indictment, not for his indiscriminate dumping of sensitive documents and stolen e-mails, but for the conspiracy of unauthorized computer access.

Many have tried painting Assange as a journalistic martyr, warning us that his arrest puts the free press is at risk. Assange is an asset of Russian intelligence, not a journalist.

Why do I think so? Julian Assange had one line he refused to cross— he would not publish the Panama papers or any documents he was in possession of, that implicated Putin for his interference in the Ukraine.

    More Fun Assange facts:

    • Julian Assange outed a gay man in Saudi Arabia.
    • Published the medical records of teenage rape victims.
    • Wikileaks was responsible for releasing the names and personal information of 7 Jews who remained Baghdad.
    • He assisted American traitor, and spy, Edward Snowden, in his escape to Russia.
    • He worked in a coordinated effort with Roger Stone, Don Junior, Edward Snowden in the release of stolen Podesta emails an hour after the Access Hollywood tape dropped, to distract from the scandal that should have ended Trump’s political aspirations.
    • Assange has been indicted on a variety of charges across Europe, ranging from extortion in Spain to rape in Sweden.

Mike Pompeo has called Assange: “Head of a non-state hostile intelligence service aligned with Putin’s Russia.”

    Assange is not a journalist.

His arrest is a result of Robert Mueller’s work, and offers another opportunity for congress to obtain the Mueller report.

U.S. prepares criminal case against Wikileaks’ Assange

The fifth story, and the last I’ll mention today, I find most alarming:

Thousands of FBI agents just had their personal information stolen and published by hackers: report

The personal information of 4,000 FBI members was hacked and posted online, including names, personal and government email addresses, job titles, phone numbers and their postal addresses.

The timing of this with regards to both Assange and Barr should not be overlooked.

FBI hacked days after Assange arrested for unauthorized computer access, and while Barr is pushing Trump’s narrative attempting to discredit the FBI, implying their justified investigation included “spying”.

Trump and his appointees believe they’re immune to any repercussions from their illegal behavior, in part because they’ve repeatedly been protected by the GOP members of congress.

Our country is currently under control of those who own the GOP- the Koch brothers, the Mercers, the Forbes, the, NRA, etc.

They not only control the GOP, but they use their money to manipulate the masses. For example, the Mercers funded Cambridge Analytica, the company that used Facebook data to target propaganda in order to suppress the vote in 2016. Steve Bannon worked for Cambridge Analytica. (The company has re-formed under a new name— Emerdata.)

The CNP- Council for National Policy is a far right libertarian party.

They can check off much of their agenda.

I lied, there is one more story… more Trump playing dictator. If congress is in need of another reason to impeach Trump, this is it.

Trump instructed a Customs and Border Patrol head to break the law, and promised him he’d issue him a pardon if he was sent to jail.

Of all the impeachable offenses Trump has committed, this one is the boldest.

Trump told CBP head he’d pardon him if sent to jail

The democratic congress has a valid argument to try to avoid Impeachment for now. While it would be successful in the House, the GOP still holds the majority in the Senate. McConnell would shut it down. I keep hearing- we are playing a long game, when we take back the Senate in 2020 this will end.

Any success of a long game would depend on the GOP and Russia not successfully rigging the election in 2020, and let’s not forget that Trump continues appointing questionable judges.

Regardless of the GOP majority in the senate, beginning Impeachment proceedings would allow for the release of Mueller’s report.

The GOP has been playing dirty for decades. Democrats have to find a way to end this now.

The Secret Correspondence Between Donald Trump Jr. and WikiLeaks

Barr’s Interpretation of the Mueller Report is Just That

Bill Barr has turned out to be exactly what we were afraid he might be, another Trump enabler. Barr is protecting Trump. With the release of his version of Robert Mueller’s report, he’s stated that, if he does release the Mueller’s report, it will be redacted in such a way that anything negative regarding Trump will not be seen. This is propaganda by definition, misleading and biased.

    *See the Bloomberg story attached.

    Barr also quoted Robert Mueller:

“While this report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

Regardless, gave their story the following headline:

“Mueller Finds No Trump Collusion; Barr Sees No Obstruction Case”

Those are Bill Barr’s words. Barr’s interpretation of Mueller’s, words are not the same as Mueller’s words.

We deserve to make the determination ourselves, by having access the report we (tax payers) funded.

Incidentally, Bloomberg again shows bias in reporting by claiming the investigation cost tax payers $25 million. They fail to mention the fact that the investigation actually turned a profit when Paul Manafort’s assets were seized. Forfeiture of his real estate and cash is estimated to be between $42- $46 million.

Mueller Finds No Trump Collusion; Barr Sees No Obstruction Case

Congress has issued a subpoena for the full report and to question Robert Mueller himself. We have a democratic majority House investigating this.

This is not how we wanted the Trump/Russia investigation to end, but this is not the end. The fat lady has not sung. This is intermission. Act 2 starts tomorrow.

Let’s forget Barr for now and take a look at the SDNY:

The Southern District of New York has retained attorney Audrey Strauss.

She defeated Roy Cohn, Trump’s first mentor. She’s been called a mob buster. Since that success, she has had an aggressive focus on white collar criminals.

Additionally, Robert Mueller has turned over much of his information to the New York State Attorney General, for good reason. Crimes under state jurisdiction render Trump’s power to pardon impotent. That is the likeliest reason Mueller did not issue indictments for Trump’s family members.

DC, EDNY, EDVA are more jurisdictions where the Trumps may pay for their crimes, like their comrades:

Rick Gates case was transferred to DC,

Michael Flynn was sent to EDVA & DC,

Michael Cohen was sent to SDNY,

Stone’s indictment was sent to DC.

    Justice will be served.

Let’s just wait for the fat lady. Let the process play out.

    This is not over.

Why Elizabeth Warren is Right About the Electoral College

I have written Several posts on the topic of all that is wrong with the Electoral College. It’s a hot topic once again, thanks to Elizabeth Warren giving it her focus as she campaigns for the presidency.

Clearly the facts pertaining to Electoral College aren’t taught in schools. People have resumed their arguments over it, picked up where they left off in 2016 when Trump lost the popular vote by almost 3 million, arguing without the facts.

I thought I’d lay out the facts here, I’ve done extensive research on this subject, so read the facts, ignore my opinions, then, we can have educated debates, rather than you hurling statements at me like:

“My vote counts more than yours because you’re a fvcking libtard.”

Other reasons this subject merits mentioning again:

    • Our democracy is in peril: Putin manipulated the Electoral College on Trump’s behalf, (explaining his win despite his loss),
    • And because I can copy and paste most of my work from my previous posts on the subject, giving me time to enjoy my daughter’s company; she’s home from college (not Electoral), on spring break.

I wrote the following post the day after I finally saw “Hamilton” the musical which I loved. Alexander Hamilton was truly a genius, one of very few in our history…

    Except for federalist paper 68.

The Electoral College was adopted in 1787. The failures of the system were first apparent in 1800 with a tied election. Since then, elections in 1824, 1876, 1888, 2000, and 2016, all resulted in the loser winning.

    Hamilton’s resume:

    • He was an interpreter of the constitution, penning 51 of the 85 essays called the FederalistPapers which had the purpose of defending and clarifying the proposed Constitution,
    • He was founder of the nation’s financial system and the first Secretary of the Treasury,
    • He founded what was to become the US Coast guard,
    • He launched the New York Post.

Those are only some of the achievements he accomplished in his relatively short lifetime…not bad for an illegitimate orphan from the British West Indies.

Besides the inducement of enjoying theater, I had another reason to see “Hamilton” the musical. I was interested to see if the subject of the electoral college was addressed, because Alexander Hamilton was in large part behind its conception.

In answer to that: No, it wasn’t specifically addressed. The musical was written before the subject became a hot topic of debate. Hamilton’s authorship of 51 of the essays in Federalist Papers was mentioned.

In recent months, the most hotly debated essay of the Federalist Papers has been number 68. It is the second in a series of 11 of said essays discussing the powers and limitations of the Executive branch and the only one to describe the method of selecting a president.

The electoral college was a compromise. It was concocted to garner enough support to ratify the constitution.

The founding fathers were split on how a president should be elected. Some wanted a direct election by the people, while others wanted the president to be elected by congress.

The electoral college was a compromise concocted to garner support for the constitution which had not yet been ratified.

In an attempt to gain support of the slaveholding states, the “Three-Fifths Compromise” was included in the Electoral College proposal—three fifths of the population in those states at the time were slaves— who were not allowed to vote. This “Compromise” essentially gave a slaveowner’s vote the weight of the numbers of their slaves. If their slaves had been given a vote, and they voted in accordance with their slave owners that might have been fair…or not.

By virtue of the original intent of the Three-Fifths Compromise, it should have been abolished the same year blacks were given a vote.

Let’s go back to Mr Hamilton. He was anti-slave, however he viewed the system of an electoral college as superior to direct popular election for a few reasons:

He recognized, the “sense of the people should operate in the choice,” and would through the election of the electors to the Electoral College. Second, the electors would be:

“men most capable of analyzing the qualities adapted to the station and acting under circumstances favorable to deliberation, and to a judicious combination of all the reasons and inducements which were proper to govern theirchoice.”

Such men would be “most likely to have the information and discernment” to make a good choice, and avoid the election of anyone “not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications”.

Corruption of an electoral process could most likely arise from the desire of “foreign powers to gain an improper ascendant in our councils.” To minimize risk of foreign machinations and inducements, the electoral college would have only a “transient existence” and no elector could be a “senator, representative, or other person holding a place of trust or profit under the United States”; electors would make their choicein a “detached situation”, whereas a preexisting body of federal office-holders “might be tampered with beforehand to prostitute their votes.”

Also, a successful candidate for the office of president would have to have the distinguished qualities to appeal to electors from many states, not just one or a few states:

“Talents for low intrigue, and the little arts of popularity, may alone suffice to elevate a man to the first honors in a single State; but it will require other talents, and a different kind of merit, to establish him in the esteem and confidence of the whole Union, or of soconsiderable a portion of it as would be necessary to make him a successful candidate for the distinguished office of President of the United States”

    Hamilton expressed confidence that:

“It will not be too strong to say, that there will be a constant probability of seeing the station filled by characters pre-eminent for ability and virtue”

The members of the electoral college do not have an infinite number of responsibilities. They have one job. That job is to ensure the person elected to office of President of the United States:

reflects the will of the people,

     is unaffected by foreign machinations,

     is someone with requisite qualifications.

On December 19, 2016, Members of the Electoral College failed to do their intended job.

In addition, more than 50 Electoral College members who voted for Donald Trump were ineligible to serve as presidential electors because they either did not live in the congressional districts they represented, or they held elective office in states legally barring dual officeholders, and yet these factors were ignored by the Senate this Friday, January 6, 2016, when a third opportunity to disqualify an illegitimate election was disregarded.

Corrupt cowardice is at the helm of America’s sinking leader-ship. Our tax dollars pay these people who have allowed so many opportunities to correct an injustice to a vast majority of the population before Inauguration Day. Sorry, but I think it’s bullshit.

The GOP can only hold onto power by means of tools like the Electoral College, that effectively disenfranchise voters in largely populated areas by giving their vote 1/10th of the weight of someone who lives somewhere less populated.

They won’t give it up without a fight, nor will they agree to use voting machines that are secure, hand marked paper ballots, random manual audits, end gerrymandering, end voter registration purging, stop closing voting stations in poor areas, automatically registering legal voters upon drivers licence renewals, etc.

They don’t want every vote to count because that will be the death of the

party of sexist racist old white men.

    Let’s abolish it. 🤓
